In A Food Mood... When Life Gives You Lemons

In She Makes It Look Easy, Justine insists on making fresh squeezed lemonade while Ariel just resorts to Country Time powder. Recently I decided to make fresh squeezed lemonade to see if I could. I have to say it was easy, and SO good! I thought I'd share the recipe I used in case you wanted to give it a whirl. Or a squeeze.

1. Juice the lemons. I used about 6 to get a cup of juice.

2. Mix 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a microwave safe dish. Nuke until the sugar is dissolved. (I started out with one minute and just added to it, checking often.)

3. Mix the lemon juice and sugar water mixture (simple syrup) in a pitcher. Add about 3 cups of water and ice. Refrigerate until chilled through.

Easy!

I don't often drink lemonade, but when I do, it's usually Crystal Light or Country Time. I am glad to now have this recipe in my arsenal!

Yummo! I LOVE fresh lemonade. Shoot, I love lemonade in any form! My special favorite is the frozen lemonade you get at the little stands at places like Carrowinds or Six Flags.

This sounds yummy. Have you mixed lemonade and tea? Some call it an Arnold Palmer, Starbucks also makes a good combo of the two. I just made simple syrup to go in an iced coffee I made. It keeps very well. I plan to try your recipe...sounds fresh!

That sounds delicious. I actually had to buy a bag sealer so that I could keep my fruit fresh cause I never used it but now I have a reason to. Thanks!
