Devotion Today

I have a devotion running today over at P31. If you've stopped by after reading, thanks for visiting! If you are a regular visitor, I value your support!

I am busy preparing for a retreat I lead this weekend in the mountains of NC and still plugging away on my second novel, plus overseeing the daily needs of our fiction site, She Reads.

Hope you all are having a great week!

Thank you SO MUCH for today's devotion. I have been struggling with decisions also, and have been wondering where the flashing billboard from God is. lol But you are absolutely right, of course - we need to go to our Source. Everything will work out one way or another. He told us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and "all these things" will be added to us.

I can't even adequately express how much this spoke to me. I don't know why I still continue to be amazed when God's timing is so perfect!

We are facing some decisions for our life right now and we have been praying for that big "aha" moment. Needless to say, it hasn't happened yet. haha!

A friend just said to me that sometimes no answer is the answer. She believes that it may be His way of trusting me (you, us, her) to act on faith.

(((hugs))) to you!

Thank you, Marybeth. My husband and I have been married almost 15 years. We've tried to fix our fallen natures by ourselves, through church and through counseling. This week I called police in the middle of the night and he was arrested.
I know I'm a big girl but I long for someone to tell me what to do...I've been praying specifically for God to make the response He desires for me as clear as if He spoke it to me. I'm so weary...thank you for your devotion today.

Praying for Anonymous, that she will hear God speak to her and for her to trust that she is in His care.

All the best to you, Marybeth. Your work ethic impresses me and I send you positive energy to help you keep up with your writing as you also prepare for the retreat.

Blessings,
Colleen

Hello Mary Beth,
Thank you for your devotion today. My husband and I have been praying to make the right decision for our 4 year old to go to kindergarten or hold him back. Your words have come to me (us) at the perfect time. I love how God communicates with us all so differently, but yet the same.
God bless you!

Thank you for your great insights in the devotion today. And thank you for living it first so we can learn from you.

God used you in my life today!

Hi! Sometimes I'm still amazed how God knows what our experiences are. Today, I'm was trying to decide whether or not to go back to work, even part-time after not wroking for over thirty-two years. After talking with my husband, I realized how important my being at home still is. Now I have grandchildren, who I throughly enjoy being with and can pick up one of them from school to spend the afternoon with, which I would be unable to do if I worked. Secondly we're expecting a new "baby" soon, and I was really looking forward to having days when I could babysit and get to know him. That wouldn't happen as often if I worked.
My biggest dilemma in deciding not to work was at the present time my husband is unemployment. I have flet that God was in control of that situation and he was taking care of us through it all.
We had finished dinner and I sat down to check the email one last time, and here was today's devotional. It was like God, here I want you know that I am here for you, you can rest that I know how you value your relationship with your grandchildren, family and friends.
It was one of moments when I couldn't believe what I was reading, it was like tremendous weight had been lifted and I could see that I was making decision that I could feel good about.
Thank you so very much, Chris

I'm not sure I can express how timely your devotion was today. Choices do sometimes take precedence in our lives. Like the others who have commented here, I, too, am facing decisions- one in particular that may change the course of the rest of my life. I am also facing a challenge like none other at work that will only be resolved with time and God's hand. And this may make my decision for me. I'm alright with that. Your words help me to refocus on Him and not the situation. Thank you.

Oops...I had to delete the comment just about because of a mistype. Just wanted to say that I enjoyed your devotional! Right on target as usual, and thank God for friends who love us enough to speak the truth in love. I also wanted to ask if you did the She Reads email that I got today. It was about Christians and their thoughts on what is acceptable reading for believers. I thought you gave a very balanced response. As in most cases, I like the old adage, "Others may but you may not" We all need to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading in the books we read, movies we see, etc. Thanks again for your blog...it is always an encouragement to me.
