A Conversation

Two Year Old: "I don't want to go to CBS (Community Bible Study) tomorrow."

Me: "Yes, we need to go to CBS. You like CBS. Mommy likes to go to CBS. This week mommy really needs to go to CBS to get some Jesus in her heart."

Two Year Old: "You could just get a shot."

This is the same child who apparently has a crush on the carpet guy. She hangs out by his side and talks a blue streak to him. He is very patient with her, to his credit. She just got dressed and immediately went out to show him her ponytail.

If only it were as easy as kids make it sound. Sometimes, the shot in the arm IS spending time with other, like-minded Christians.

I hope the carpet people are done and gone!

Isn't it amazing how kids can make friends with anyone?

Marybeth,
You are so funny! I love your sense of humor and you so remind me of my darling cousin Heather. I recently purchased your book For the Write Reason and am enjoying all I am learning and am being incredibly blessed by your wisdom and perspective. This is the first book I've found on writing craft that speaks to my heart. Thanks for sharing. Blessings!

Out of the mouths of babes..too cute.

Hope you are surviving the carpet installation!
Love you!

I just had to tell you this: I carry my computer around the house with me and often times I will have your blog up. I'll get sidetracked or interrupted and your picture can stay on my screen for hours at a time. I promise I'm not a stalker but you probably know how it is. My kids are always curious about what I am doing on the computer. They worry that I am playing their Webkinz games without them. So one day I had your blog up and my oldest (6) walked by and said, "Hey mom, who are those people?" Well, I could have gone into this long drawn out speal about how you are this writer and speaker and this is called your blog and you encourage mommy and blah, blah, blah. All of those descriptions would have led to even more questions like, "Well mommy, what's a blog?" It was just one of those days I didn't feel like answering all of the questions so I simply told him that you are my friend. The 4 year old then had to get involved and wanted to know who all of those kids are and why can't they come over and play. I then had to get out the map and show them where you lived compared to where we live. Then of course, they know we fly free, so 6yo said, "We can just fly to their house." Then in my head I'm thinking you guys don't even know these people. I then realize I had referred to you as "friend" and to them that means playtime. Daily my kids now ask, "Mom, can we get on the computer and see those kids and when can they come over and play." Just wanted to let you know that your kids now outrank the Webkinz.
