Psalm 126
1 When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion,
we were like those who dreamed.
2 Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
“The LORD has done great things for them.”
3 The LORD has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.
4 Restore our fortunes, LORD,
like streams in the Negev.
5 Those who sow with tears
will reap with songs of joy.
6 Those who go out weeping,
carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
carrying sheaves with them.

One of the girls in my online writing group sent this Psalm out to another writer who was having a rough day. We all appreciated reading it, as it meant different things to different ones of us. I thought it was an approprate Psalm to share with you guys, as it expresses the hope of great things to come, the value of dreaming of a bright future. Sure we might be weeping now, but we have a harvest of joy waiting just ahead. For those of you who are struggling with finances or marriage or parenting or just... life, let this Psalm be your prayer today, praising Him for what's to come and trusting that it is, indeed, just ahead.

Thank you for always sharing your spiritual light with all of us. It is so much appreciated and valued, and a lot of times, it is just the thing I needed to hear. God Bless you Marybeth.
And thank YOU for always commenting and encouraging me... it means more than you know!
Thank you for the Psalms post today Marybeth. It is EXACTLY what I needed to hear. Mired in struggles with parenting and marriage, it was a much-needed reminder that "this too shall pass." Your blog is such a blessing to this stay-at-home mom!

I LOVE this Psalm, thank you for reminding us of one of the best promises from God. (I once watched a Beth Moore video conference that was based on this Psalm.) Have a Merry Christmas with your family!
