Welcome

Welcome to my blog if you are visiting from today's P31 devotion: For His Name's Sake. I am glad you visited!

As you read this I am most likely en route to a Christmas conference in Eutawville SC. The ladies at this church based the conference on my ebook, A Recipe For Christmas Joy. We are going to spend the day talking about how to experience Joy this Christmas and I can't wait to see what God does during our day together! I spoke at their retreat last fall and I am so excited to see them all again!

If Christmas is on your mind today, be sure to check out my post from yesterday about ways I am trying to have a simple Christmas this year. And be sure to leave a comment letting me know some ways that you are simplifying your Christmas. I could always use help in this area and I learn so much from you guys.

I hope that your weekend is filled with joy and that you are enjoying your Christmas season however you are choosing to spend it. I will see you back here next week!

Marybeth,
I just finished my time with Jesus and came in and read your devo. Total confirmation. We are trying to make a huge decision and for weeks have heard nothing but "wait". Not a fun word! Then today, in the Word, He gave me a different perspective. What is my motivation? Before, it was Lynn centered. Today it was...for Your glory. To give to others. Thanks for letting Him use you!

Marybeth, I loved your devotion when I read it during editorial review for P31, but today I NEEDED it!!! What perfect timing. Trusting Him to lead me today for His Name's sake, with mom's care and all that He brings our way.

Thank you for being a student of God's Word and a woman who lives what you learn. Thank you for pulling out such rich nuggets of truth for us to hold on to!

Renee

PS. Praying for you and your event event this weekend.

Thank you, Marybeth, for sharing what the Lord has taught you this morning. It was just what I needed to hear as well. I have had a weight problem most of my adult life, but never have been able to take it off and keep it off successfully. I knew I could not do this on my own, and I had asked God to give me the willingness and ability to do what I knew was His will for me, but I hadn't realized that my motive was all wrong - until this morning. I'm excited to see the changes that God will work in my life now as I pray for the RIGHT motivation. God bless you and your ministry.

Thank you for the devotional you wrote. As my husband and I are facing a huge decision for our family it is important that we consider what would bring God the glory!

Blessings

God is so good! I should have read this today before church--a reminder that going is about Him, and forgetting all the reasons I had to stay home (tired, a teething baby). :) Congratulations on finishing your edits and I love reading your blog everyday! God bless.

Marybeth,

Thank you for being God's Daughter!
Oh, my gosh, your Proverbs 31 devo was just like you were here with me for my prayer time! Thank you so much for the "right" way to pray! Everyone needs that message! I've been a Christian for a long time too! That's the first time I read or heard that, "What would bring you glory Lord?" Instead of, "Show me what to do, Lord!" It makes sense. We are asking the Ord instead of telling Him.
Thank you Marybeth!

Thank you Lord for bringing the Proverbs devo today for me to read how you want me to pray to you, sweet Lord! In Jesus Name, Amen!

Blessings and Merry Christmas!
