Lysa TerKeurst's Giveaway Today!

Today I am participating in a giveaway that my friend Lysa is doing over at her blog. She is giving away a gift every day in December! Head on over there to sign up if you haven't purchased my book, and would like to win it instead. Lysa has been chronicling her adventures in Hollywood for her last several posts, and it has been quite interesting. Leave her a comment on today's post to enter.
Alas, I have no adventures in Hollywood to chronicle. My adventures consist of one coughing baby, one long to-do list, one proposal that never seems to get finished, one smelly dog with incontinence problems, and a partridge in a pear tree. On a bright note, I got all the niece and nephew gifts yesterday-- a big check mark off the old to-do list!
What's on your to-do list today? Leave me a comment and tell me either one thing you are looking forward to doing today, or one thing you are dreading doing today. I am looking forward to spending the morning with my friend Melanie and other friends at a Christmas brunch at her home. Fun! (I am skipping CBS to do this, shhh, don't tell!)
Can't wait to either comiserate or celebrate with you all as we enjoy the Christmas craziness together!

Hi Marybeth,

Today is a day that my family has been looking forward to for weeks. For about a month, my youngest son has been telling everyone he sees that his birthday is on a "December Day" and that his "name" is going to be 3! His enthusiasm has been contagious and we are all very excited about his "December Day."

So today we will set aside homeschooling and the everyday activities to go to his favorite smoothie place, order a Blueberry Blast, and make our way to the "farther" park because it's bigger and has more slides!

Today our youngest is turning three and we are so very blessed!

I pray that our family will celebrate THE DECEMBER DAY with as much enthusiasm and anticipation. May Christ's "December Day" be meaningful and merry in our hearts!

Happy "December Day" to you all!

Love,
Shannon Harrison

I am dreading going to the church and cleaning bathrooms. We don't have a janitor right now, so we are taking turns. I don't like the bathrooms in my house, why would I think that the ones at church would be any different? To compound the problem, there are 26 toilets in the buildings. Just thinking about it makes my stomach turn. I just keep repeating to myself, "I am doing it for God. I am doing it for God." Hopefully, they will get a cleaning crew before my next turn comes around.LOL

Love your blog. You seem like someone I would want to be friends with-real and transparent. Love it!

Marybeth,
The weather here is finally getting cool and it's raining. Our Beth Moore Bible Study got cancelled for today and I'm a bit excited about it because I am going to stay in my pj's, drink extra coffee(my fave), play with my 4 year old, and do some writing.

Hey!

First time visitor to your blog. I am a new mom of one! We have a beautiful baby girl named Jennifer Faith. I am really looking forward to getting home from work this evening to spend time with my family and unbox some Christmas stuff to set out for the holidays! Yes, the to-do list is crazy, but we are taking a break to enjoy some family time tonight (by request of my hunny!) Hope you have fun at your breakfast! Sounds like a lot of fun!

We are expecting 6-10 inches of snow here.... so the schools have closed and we are having a snow day! I think we will finish decorating the tree and enjoy some hot chocolate. Enjoy your Christmas brunch with friends!

We are in the midst of an ice storm in PA, so we are looking forward to an evening at home together - all activities cancelled due to the weather! :)

I am cleaning my house. That's about it, because it's a Thursady and my husband has the car until late tonight. So...homeschooling, keeping the daycare child after she gets home from school, and cleaning. It sounds so boring when I write it out. :o)

Hey -- what's the big idea??? You don't invite "outsiders" to your parties at Mels? hee hee I am going to give her a hard time about that! :) Just kidding, of course. Just wanted to drop you a note to say "hi". Got your Christmas card today...beautiful family! How do you get 8 people to look good in one pic?

Your other Lisa friend :)

Marybeth,
I have 4 kids that I homeschool & a Great Dane puppy...that's close to 6 kids! Oh, and a firefighter for a husband. You know what they say..."the bigger the boys, the bigger their toys!"

What are we doing today? We are getting ready for our children's Christmas musical (the costumes are on my plate),& of course, I have a daughter with a lead part who has Strep. I have a house full of Christmas decor, unwrapped presents, & laundry that needs to be folded & family coming in the morning for the musical/Christmas celebration at my house. Then there is the shower that broke, so we had to cut a big hole in the wall to replace the plumbing. Did I mention that we have our house on the market? My husband just got called in for overtime, & I am spending my "5 minutes of peace" blogging to those who would absolutely understand!

Thank you for listening, for praying, & for laughing (unless I made you cry...in that case, I'm sorry!) Many blessings to you...hope you enjoyed your time with friends!

Hi, Marybeth!
I found your website today via Lysa Terkeurst's site. I am thrilled to be able to read your blog since I have read For the Write Reason. I am also seriously considering homeschooling my four-year-old and two-year-old next year. I look forward to getting to know you better through your blog!

The one thing I am looking forward to today is walking with my friend Karen. Squeezing in this me-time is glorious! The one thing I am least looking forward to is the mountain of wrapping I still have to do, ugh!

I'm a first time visitor also and I can't wait to come back to spend more time. Today I was dreading doing my "pay work" before I got to our fun homeschool.

This is such a great idea!

Well, since it is late I will comment about tomorrow. One thing I am not looking forward to tomorrow is cleaning my house! Things have gotten so busy that it is in a real need of a deep clean. I do look forward to the after effects of it though! :)
Blessings,
Angela
