Blueberry Muffin Cake

Notice my cookbook stand with Martha holding court behind me.

As I mentioned last night as I summarized our day, I baked a blueberry muffin cake for our breakfast this morning. It was a great feeling to go to bed last night knowing our breakfast was waiting for us-- and a yummy treat of a breakfast at that! Somehow, though, I underestimated just how yummy the cake would be, though. It was a hit with everyone-- even the ones who don't love blueberries and shy away from muffins. I will admit that I cheated a bit and made a glaze to pour over the cake. The recipe didn't call for this, but it just seemed to "need" it after I made it last night.
I got the recipe from The Cake Doctor-- a cookbook my mom gave me that I am steadily working my way through. Periodically, I will try a new recipe from there. I haven't had a bad one yet!

I love your new look...both on the blog and your attitude to slow down. Moving at a more relaxed pace is a hard lesson, especially for the task oriented, but ultimately a wonderful one. I was in your spot several years ago. Today my life looks a lot different. We have time to do different things and the phone doesn't ring with voices saying, "Could you...would you...I really need your help". Now I pick the people who really need my time. Blessings!
