Emily must realize that her dreams didn’t have to die with her first love.

When Emily Shaw, a young widow, learns that her late husband's last surprise for her involves returning to Sunset Beach, North Carolina, to realize an old dream of theirs, she reluctantly embarks on a summer of discovery in the midst of grief. There, in the oasis of the beach community, she meets a host of townspeople with their own broken dreams and unexpected situations. As the island citizens divide over the fate of a nostalgic bridge, Emily happens upon a man who just may be the one to restore her faith in dreams, hope, and possibly love.

My favorite family vacations have been on the Atlantic coast - for me growing up as well as the years my husband and I took the kids to Maine. What a beautiful necklace! Can't wait to read The Bridge Tender.

LoVeD The Bridge Tender! I read it all in one evening, and I told 'one' of my librarian peeps about it today. I have also been spreading the word to friends and family. :) I love beach books because they signify the lazy, dazy days of summer...slowing down...sandy, salty relaxation...more time to read (obviously)...and vacation! Lovely necklace! :)

Beach reads are as relaxing as sitting on the beach and just listening to the waves rolling in> Would love to win this book and pass it along to my step-daughter who lives in Wilmington.

I loved your first book written at the beach. I enjoy reading them particular during the summer when I am the pool. It is very relaxing, which is what I think of when I am at the beach, whether walking the shore at sunrise or just taking a walk watching the waves crashing on the shore.

I started reading while on the tread mill this morning. After 4 miles, I had to get to work. I am enjoying the book! But I always enjoy your books!

Looks like a lovely summer read! I would be elated to win a copy. What a better way to kick off the summer than with a great story and new jewelery!

I've been following along your writing journey since I discovered you years ago through Proverbs 31. You've been an inspiration to me all these years as I am an aspiring novelist.

I once e-mailed you for some writing advice and what you told me has been in my heart ever since. At the time, I had two small children (now there are three). You told me that I could make my dream of writing come true, but it was okay to enjoy my children while they were little first. I'm so thankful for that sound advice, and I've truly enjoyed this special time with my kids.

I love beach books because they take me away from the reality of my life for a little while. I love your books because they take me away from reality, but give me something interesting to ponder as well.

I recently purchased all but She Makes it Look Easy, which is on for my Summer Reading List in anticipation of your new book. I enjoyed them so much that they begun to be passed around several women in my office. WE LOVE THE BEACH! We are headed from VA to OBX this weekend for a weeks long vacation with our girls. Oh how I wish there was a Kindered Spirit mailbox, but it inspired me to pursue a journal for the week in hopes that my girls and I would journal together each day our thoughts and moments. I hope to begin a tradition where you can see the perception of our trip through different eyes and ages (similar to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John).

Keep writing Marybeth, you have an amazing God given talent!

I love novels that revolve around the beach because of the calming impact of the ocean. Also, the never ending view it provides lets me know that there is more ahead and that relaxes my soul.

Love to you, Caroline

I love beach books because I love the beach. I feel close to God when I walk on the beach early in the morning. Nothing is more relaxing than the sound of the waves and the feel of the breeze on your face. Loved all your other books and would love to read this one.

Having grown up close to the beaches you write about, I can so relate going to Ocean Isle and Sunset Beach. I lived about an hour inland and would jump in the car and drive to beach on Sat and Sun. Would love to have a hard copy of your book.

I would LOVE to win your newest book. Having four teens of my own and being an as-yet unpublished author, I really enjoy your blog posts that remind me that even published authors are human! Keep on keeping on!!

Being a reader all my life, books always bring me a comfort of being home!! I was the kid on the beach under the umbrella, reading a book!!! On the farm, I would do my chores quickly and during the hot part of the day, position myself next to the window box fan and read! It was there that my dreams developed, my goals started gelling and I began to realize there was more in life.....God had a big plan for me. Books are active, not passive for they force you to think, to relax, to create, to change....

I LOVE the beach and I LOVE books so of course I would LOVE reading books set at the beach! The beach and books can offer comfort, beauty, adventure and hope. Combining the two is a win-win.

I look forward to reading this beach book. ;-)

I have loved all of your Sunset Beach series and am sure this will be another great read! Beach novels, for me, are a way to escape to the beach, even when my toes aren't buried in the sand : )

When I think of reading at the beach I immediately think of family vacations. I have pictures of us lined up in beach chairs with all our heads buried in a book. Your new book will be tucked away in my beach bag for sure.

Happy beach books! I love to read at the beach, in theory; most of the time at the Oregon Coast it is too windy to read on the beach. But the sense of escape and peace that a beach book brings is welcome anywhere. Thank you for the lovely chance at this give-away.

Having just returned from a week at Hilton Head, South Carolina, I'm in beach mode. Since I ran out of books to read while there, I had to purchase another at the airport to have something fun to do on the trip back home. I'd love to read your new book!

Beach books are a wonderful "getaway" without leaving home. If I could read it at the beach it would be a bonus.

Being that it's hard to get away to the beach for an actual vacation....as a single mom to three, books are my escape. to be transported to another place and to imagine the characters in my mind and live through them is a sweet escape to enjoy.

I love they beach books because to me, they take me to another peaceful world. I grew up in the city, Dallas, to be specific. When I would go to the beat, Oregon, California, Texas, Mexico, whatever, I would be reminded of the beautiful escape I would read about. It was truly, amazingly beautiful just like the necklace.

I love the beach. I love everything about the beach including books about the beach. I am blessed to live near both the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay, so reading beach books on the beach is my favorite summer pastime.

I love anything Beachie!! My home is decorated in Coastal decor!! My landscaping has driftwood and seashells.. My necklace is a sand-dollar.My favorite pastime is searching for Beach glass!!..therefore my reading list NEEDS to include Beach stories!!haha I grew up on the coast of Vancouver Island but my husband moved me to the prairies for 7 yrs for his job. I craved the ocean air, the mountains and the crashing sea. I lived all winter for the moment we stepped on the ferry for our summer visit. The ocean air just felt like life....that is when my passion for the Beach began.... now I am blessed to have moved 1hr and 1/2 from home so I am able to breathe deeply again!!!Enjoy your beach themes immensely!

I have returned from the gulf coast from a little R&R. My days were on the beach reading and people watching. There is something about the waves washing the shore and the ocean spray that soothes my soul like a balm. I've enjoyed all your books so far and cannot wait to read your current novel.

I love reading beach books because it's an escape within an escape . . . so fun to escape real life physically when at the beach on vacation and mentally with a good book. I started "The Mailbox" last summer at the beach & continued it a little this summer at the beach. Hopefully I can finish it before next summer! With an active toddler, it can be hard to find time to read, but I really hope to more this year than just during beach vacations! I'd love to win your new book. Thanks!

I love beach books because they remind me of my childhood memories visiting the North Carolina coast and Outer banks and spending time with my family.

I love beach books because they are way to connect with memories of previous vacations. I like comparing the experiences written in the book to mine and it's fun to think I might have been where the characters are or done what the characters are doing or feeling. Thanks for writing great beach books!

I love reading beach books because I'm usually stuck in Minnesota and then I can dream of being somewhere else. I also love your books and am sure this will be a great read!

Beach novels give me a brief escape. The beach is where I go when I need to relax and recharge. A beach novel at least gives my mind a "little vacation". Love all your books. Hope to one day visit "the mailbox" in Sunset Beach. Always make it to Ocean Isle Beach but have not made it to Sunset other than for awesome seafood. 6821

I just finished reading The Bridge Tender it was a Beautiful
Novel! Sunset Beach is a Beautiful place too. I can say too that I have been across that Bridge before.......
Made the book so much more enjoyable and exciting.
However, it was on my Kindle.....SO it would be really great to own a Paper Edition of this Novel...especially since it will be signed by you:) The Necklace is Beautiful too,:)

Ahhhh, the beach! That says it all. There are so many emotions that one can experience at the beach - and reading a book about a beach location makes it even better. A great place to read about one of the most relaxing and calming places on the planet!
