Some people think the number 13 is an unlucky number. Do you ever feel unlucky? Read Psalm 73 about Asaph, who felt unlucky but then reached some wonderful conclusions. Journal some verses from this Psalm and why these verses were special to you.
You were so on target about the month of August, the busyness it brings, and the lack of time to read posts on blogs. I've barely had time to write on my own blog let alone read anyone else's.
However, I took a few minutes this morning to pop over here. I love to journal and do well on my own but have so enjoyed your thought-provoking journaling questions - at least in the early days of this month. School has begun and well....you called it life has gotten in the way.
While skimming through your posts of questions, your entry referring to Psalm 73 caught my attention. After reading it through, verse 28 seemed to stand out to me. "But for me it is good for me to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works." These last 7 months traveling this jobless journey have been a testament to that fact. Sometimes the unlucky or hard times in our lives cause us to draw near to HIM. I wrote this in my journal this morning, 'These hard days cause me to cling to you, Jesus, because I have no other place to go. You are my hiding place, my shelter from the storm, my very present help in time of trouble. Yes, Lord, I can say 'thank you' for these hard days because they draw me ever closer to you. And there's no other place I'd rather be.'
Thank you, Marybeth, for leading me to this Psalm. HIS words were comfort to my soul : )

I hope I can get my teeth into some more of these questions. They really are thought-provoking!
