This sounds like a wonderful book to ponder and perhaps change how to live in the now. I would love to win a copy of your book to bless some dear friends of mine whose house was leveled in the Joplin, MO tornado. The Power Verses in your devotion hold so true to that disaster. Proverbs 27:1, “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” (NIV)
Matthew 6:34, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (NIV). Thank you for blessing me today!

I'm going to start by saying, I don't believe in coincidences. I opened my email to your devotion this morning. I thought, this as usual, timely for my life today. Thank You Dear Lord for reminding me what's important. I then decide to read a chapter from the devotional I'm reading by Rachel Olsen "It's No Secret......." and guess what chapter I was going to read??? Yup, chapter 7, Revealing the Secret of Perfection in God's Eyes. I think the Lord had a message for me this morning... LOL! I think I need to slow down at look at what's important today.

Thank you so much for your devotion. God used it to really speak to me. I am at a place where I have to work at a job outside of the home, but in about a year and a half I will be able to quit and stay home and I am constantly looking for ways to rush that and push up the time. God Knows I desire to stay home but I know he was speaking to me through your devotion to just enjoy this time right now even if I do have to go to work everyday.

Thank you for this timely reminder. I used to be the one to point out those "little things" that God blesses us with and I seem to have lost that in life's busyness.

Thanks so much to those of you who mention book clubs! This book is truly a great discussion starter in so many areas-- comparison, contentment, the danger of pedestals, protecting your marriage... etc. I hope you all will pick it to do for your book clubs and have some honest, heart to heart, relationship building discussions as a result!

This book definitely sounds like something I need to read. My life is so fast paced, sometimes I forget what day it is! @ little girls, 2 BIG dogs, and a deployed husband, it gets hectic. But I just went to a seminar that was talking about this, slowing down and smelling the roses. I guess I'll have to get some!!marlene.brown@ferring.com

Christina said...

Thanks for your devotion today! This world is truly a rushed world...how fast can we get something from here to there. Often what gets me to slow down and enjoy the moment, is to grab my camera and start looking for things to take pictures of...my two boys of course are my favorite to capture. Thanks for the reminder to slow down.

So... in the midst of buzzing around my house this morning, determined to get it spotless and organized (as it really is NOT spotless and organized right now), I decided I would take a break and read the encouraging word for today. Little did I know that God had just the right reproof for me, there in your words. Thank you.
I would be delighted to own "She Makes It Look Easy".

I dont even have probably 1/3 of yours tasks and I am already considering learning some secrets that others may know how to at least to keep my head above water....do tell! to spill the beans! :) Looking forward to reading the book for sure!

I just read your blog this morning. Just wanted to say it was awesome and appropriate for this time in my life. I am pregnant with my first baby, just moved across the country with my husband, and have been in search for a "job". I'm so stressed and consumed over getting a job and worried that I can't get one at this point since I am showing now. I have an interview this morning. I can't stop thinking about it and therefore, cannot go back to sleep at this early morning now. But your blog really encouraged me this morning. And I just wanted to say thank you for sharing!
