Thursday Thought

My thought for today is... I am tired. After a whirlwind trip to Wilmington NC for a booksigning and time with family that lives there last weekend, I returned home Sunday night, was home Monday, then left again Tuesday morning early to fly to NY to speak at West Point. Yes, that West Point. I spoke Wednesday morning and returned home late last night.

It was a wonderful event. I got to meet some great ladies and share about balance. Afterwards, I got a private tour (thanks Eileen!) and learned a lot about the history of West Point. I will never forget my whirlwind day at West Point and seriously, that campus is gorgeous-- especially in the fall.

But today... I am tired. And so I have not a whole lot to say except, I'll be back tomorrow with Fiction Friday! See ya then!

I enjoy reading your blog and writings. West Point is so magnificent and there is definitely a lot of history, tradition and preparation for lives in and out of the military. My daughter graduated from there and I had been fortunate to make the trip from Texas to West Point several times. Now she is trying to find a balance of family life with a husband and three small little ones, time for herself and her career, all of which they had prepared her for. Whew, I know the scales tip one way and then the other on devotion of time but they are making it. Rest up, for tomorrow is another day!

Hi Marybeth! We loved having you here at West Point, and wished you could have stayed longer! Thank you so much for your words of wisdom about balance, it is something that so many of us are struggling with. I especially liked that No is not a dirty word. I've often thought about getting a rhinestone pin that says NO and wearing it everyday.
I hope that someday you will make the trip back up here with your family to take in the sights and the history.
Thank you again for sharing your heart with us.
