I've been doing Jennifer Kennedy Dean's Bible study Live A Praying Life, as I've mentioned, and I am loving it. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a study to do this fall. I am not doing it with anyone-- just as my personal quiet time each morning. It's rich stuff and she's a gifted writer/teacher.
One of the things she has the reader do is to take a verse that features a promise and turn it into a prayer. So this week I am going to use one of the verses that she used and challenge you to do the same today.
Psalm 25:12, "Who, then, is the man
Make this psalm your prayer for today. Write the words God gives you in your journal and thank Him for choosing the way for you-- not just a way, but the way. Words to rest in, words to live by and aspire to as we seek to live a praying life.

Marybeth,
I love the Psalm today - it is very fitting for where I am. Looking at my life and feeling God nudge me to move on to something else. I have been letting fear of the unknown and fear of finances control me. I love this verse. It is my prayer today - God's word tells me that he will instruct me in the way chosen for me.
You are a blessing!
Amanda
Marybeth,
Thank you so much for this verse today. It is just what I needed. Also, you mentioning that you are doing a study on prayer during your quiet time, as just what I needed to hear.
I went to She Speaks this year and sat in on your session on novel writing. It was wonderful to hear you speak in person after following your blog for over a year. I didn't take time to introduce myself, and I regret that now. It would have been fun to talk with you about writing during the author meet and greet.
Thanks again,
Josey

I have done the study Live a Praying Life and I am reading it thru for the second time during my quiet time. It has blessed my life over and over and I will be reading thru it again..It is a keeper and worth reading thru more than one time. May your life and the lives of your family be blessed richly and may everyone else really consider buying this study and either do it on your own or do a small group study. Blessings on your week Marybeth...thanks for this post.
