Psalm 66

Kids are fighting, complaining, whining.

To-do list is calling.

Emails begging to be responded to.

Vacation packing to be done.

Instead I sit with my journal and my Bible and drink Him in.

Psalm 66:5, "Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man's behalf."

Psalm 66:16, "Come and listen, all you who fear God, let me tell you what he has done for me."

I begin to list the things in my journal, taking time to write out what he has done. My joy swells. The noise diminishes. My life is good, rich, full. He has brought me out to a place of abundance. (Psalm 66:12)

I need this reminder.

Come and see what God has done. What would you write down in response? Would love to hear your answers.

God has given me the encouragement I need to persue this crazy dream of mine. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's HIS vision for my life. I hate flying, want to cower in fear when I am in a big crowd, and get tongue tied when meeting new people one on one. LOL, so it MUST be God!
I also see that He has found ways to use my brokenness. I once wrote a song that says "The Potter's hands bleed as He holds me." Even though He has to work with jagged edges of my sinfulness and shattered remains of my life when I was running from Him, He still called me, picked up the broken pieces, and holds me so tight His hands bleed. Isn't that awesome? That He would keep us so tightly in His grip that His blood continues to pour out over us?
I don't know about you, but I need to let Him remind me of that every single day. Nothing I do, accidently or intentionally, will pluck me from from His bleeding hands.
That's the cool drink of living water I got from Him.

Marybeth,

It's been a while since I visited your blog but I wanted to thank you for your most recnt devotion on Proverbs 31....Just last evening I prayed tearful words with a dear friend about my giving...not knowing what to do in the state of unemployent for over 6months. I'm just now begining to get behind on bills and was contemplating if I should continue to give my tithe. Was less enough? Your words "Give with your heart", was just what I needed to hear. He's answering my every call with mighty things I do not know. He is blessing me with the stength to move forward in faith, not knowing what tomorrow holds for me and my children. He's providing just what we need for today, and we are learning to rest in His care in difficut times. He's loving us like no other love we've ever known. He is good, oh so good!

Marybeth thank you for your post today!
Here are a few things that I am giving praise to God for:
~His Forgivness and Grace
~Sending His Son to shed his blood for our sins
~My 6yr old son who has a heart for Jesus. (He built a cross yesterday out of wood to hang in his room to remind him of Jesus)
~The stray dog that came to our home and never left. He has brought our family lots of joy and laughter.
~For bringing our family home safe after the 6hour delay at the airport
~For the amazing beauty of God's creation
~Freedom to own a bible and read it whenever we want
~For the family He has entrusted to us
~A daughter who has a heart of gold toward others and touched others lives during her softball season
Thank You God for your goodness!

I think I will list more of these in my journal as the day goes on.

Rachel
