The Ability To See

Thanks to all of you who stop by after reading today's devotion about seeing the battles that are being fought on our behalf in the unseen realm. I love the thought of having our eyes opened so we can see the battle raging. What an awesome thing that would be to really see instead of merely imagine. Sometimes I get so focused on my circumstances in the here and now, I forget there is more-- an unseen realm that is very real. I need to be reminded of this truth on a regular basis. How about you? Do you need a reminder that God is fighting battles you can't even see?

For those of you who feel led, my friend Amy could use our prayers for her little boy who is fighting his own battle right now. Ryan was born this week in the 28th week of pregnancy. He's just a little thing at 2 lbs. 12 ounces. She came home today and I talked to her briefly. She is keeping a good attitude and trying to see God's hand in this ordeal. But I also know her mother's heart just breaks watching her little guy fight for his life.

Marybeth,
I couldn't find a way to comment on Amy's blog. My nephew was born at 26 wks (1lb. 13 oz) and another at 32 wks (2 1/2 lbs). They are both fun, loving, healthy children. The 26 wker was born 14 years ago this past Monday!! It was a very hard 3 1/2 months in NICU but he is well with many prayers. We will pray for your friend and her little one and family. It is scary when they are so small. Thanks for your wonderful blog and inspiration!
Have a blessed day!!

I LOVED the devo today...I am such a strong believer in "what we can't see" being such a real thing all around us. I was just talking to a friend in my driveway the other day about how I believe there is a spiritual battle going on all around us all the time....the devil is here to rob, kill, and destroy....when we ask God for His help I believe He sends in the troops!!! Thanks, Marybeth, and I too will be praying for Amy and her precious little one. Love, Tammy

I will be praying for your friend Amy. Just a bit over a year ago our daughter surprised us by being born at 27 wks. 2 days of my pregnancy. She only weighed 2 lbs. 6 oz. Today she is walking across my kitchen as I type, a healthy, happy little girl, though still on the small side. Having a baby that tiny in the hospital is a very difficult thing for a mom and dad to go through. I will pray for Amy and her family that they will feel the peace of God that comforted, encouraged and kept us going through those early days. I would also suggest that someone share with her a journal so that she can write daily of Ryan's progress, recording even the smallest developments, so when the days seem slow, looking back on these notes is an encouragement. -Stacy B.

Marybeth,
Great words today.
If we could always remember
"The battle belongs to the Lord" we would be much better at handling the circumstances that come our way. Thanks for such a refeshing and encouraging devo. Also know we will be lifting Amy and her family in prayer.
Thanks again.
Love through Christ,

thank you so much for today's words of encouragement. It always seems that God comes in at just the right time. Of course he knows what we need before we even think it and He loves us so much. I am also adding my prayers for Amy and family today. It helps to remember that God formed that precious baby with His own hands and He loves him even more than Amy can (i know it's hard to imagine a love greater than a mom's) but God does love beyond our understanding! I pray that He will wrap His arms of Comfort & Peace and the Joy of new life around Amy & all of her family. Thank you again for being His voice in today's devotional.

I needed to hear your words of encouragement today. We have been in the process of adoption for the past 19 months - we were told it was to be a 7 month ordeal. We are seeing so much corruption & evil just trying to prevail. We come to grips and know it is God's timing & He will win in the end...but days like today are just plain hard. I want to see what I am not seeing...I want to see what is in the spiritual realm, I want to see! Thanks so much.

Praying for Ryan and for Amy's peace.

Great devotion, Marybeth! I loved it. It's such a comfort to know that God is fighting for us and I needed that reminder!

Thanks for your writings today. A great reminder that God is in control of completely everything, and everywhere.
A personal note- my father in law passed away and we flew to Idaho to attend the funeral and burial. Tuesday was the funeral and yesterday was the burial. My daughter and I flew home to Ca last night and my husband still is in Idaho with his mother. God gave us much strength and peace.
I have not written in a long time on your blog but do like the new look of your blog marybeth.
Hugs,
Debra Z

Couldn't find a way to get in touch with Amy. But I'll be praying! My little Maddy was born at 25 weeks- 1 lb 11 oz- and is an amazing, feisty ball of 6-year-old energy with nothing to show for her rough start but a zest for life! Her little guy seems to be doing wonderfully!!
