Free State Study Ebook

Just wanted to pass on that School Express has State e-books free (they're doing 4 per week alphabetically and are up to North Dakota now):

http://www.schoolexpress.com/states01.php

If you click on the state name, you'll go to the state's homepage; if you click on thematic unit, you'll get the free e-book.

I've got my North Carolina one ready to go, and plan to let my third grader work her way through it this spring. We'll get a jump on those 4th grade state study requirements!

Marybeth,
Thank you so much for posting all of these wonderful ideas and homeschool resources. I'm preparing to homeschool next year (and going into it with absolutely no experience)and I check your blog almost daily and am so blessed by all your postings. I have felt God whispering to me that "He will provide," and He is doing it through you. I am so grateful!!

Hi Marybeth, this is somewhat unrelated but wanted to share this with you... Have you heard of "workboxes" recently on any of the homeschool message boards? I bet you would like them for you children...

Thanks!!! My son is studying US Geography, so this will be perfect!! :0) I'm currently using an e-book that I bought, but this actually looks better. Wish I had knows about this before, LOL.

I wonder if you can give some advice to me as I try to decide whether to homeschool my children who are getting ready to start 4th and 6th grades next year. Is there a reason why you do not homeschool your older ones? Is it difficult to teach at home through middle school and high school? Any advice you have is appreciated!

Thanks Marybeth! You always find the most interesting websites! I wish they had this stuff available when I was a kid!

Hi Marybeth,
Jillian from NZ here. I read today your comments on jealousy and have to say that looking at your family etc, what on earth would you still be wanting? But I know very well what you are meaning when you look at others and want something they have that you think you don't! I have been jealous of my sister for years as she has 2 great daughters and I always wanted a daughter. (I have 2 sons). I don't feel jealousy so much now as I used to with God's help but every now and then it rears its head! Thanks for being so honest (and if it helps at all, I'm sure there are many women who are jealous of you!) :-)
